HDMI Cable they are pricey but are millions of miles ahead of any other TV connection, It is the only connection that can send unrestricted HD signal, plus it only has one cord, Picture and Sound all in one cord. If you don't have a connection for HDMI, Component Cables are your next best Choice.

Philips is an excellent company that has been around for many many years, they have established a great record of reliability

As Charles mentioned, US TVs are NTSC TVs and they don't recognize PAL sources.

See if you can buy a PAL to NTSC converter, otherwise the TV will only work with NTSC game consoles.

The problem is the tuner in the USA purchased TV is a NTSC tuner. India uses a different (PAL) format tuner. You might find a replacement tuner circuit board from Samsung and have someone who works on TV's switch it out. If you don't feel like you can find someone you trust to open up your TV, you could buy an external "Set Top Box" type tuner designed for use as a external tuner on a "Monitor" (Screen with no internal tuner, only Video Inputs). The external tuner box would connect to one of the video inputs on your TV.

Hope this helps,
Charles

ALWAYS follow the color codes...you'll notice the AUDIO connections are different than the Component Video connections. Keep that in mind when you connect your RED VIDEO and your RED AUDIO connectors....

HDMI connections will always provide a little MORE detail than the Component cables will, but it's not like you're using the TV for microsurgery 800 miles away .....

that's right you don't need the yellow cable.

that's for Standard tv where the red and white are for the sound and the yellow is for on the Component cable the red green and blue carry the video while the other red and white one carry the sound.

so don't worry everything their is normal

the picture via component cable will be better quality than a Standard yellow red and white but wont be as good as a hdmi but it will still be a very good quality picture you should be able to get a picture of 1080i from your xbox. the hdmi cables Will make it 1080p (the different is very very little)

so yes don't worry about the yellow lead it isn't meant to go anywhere and the picture Will be very very good

If the LCD frames are connected to the mains, then yes. If it is battery powered then it depends upon how often they want to change the batteries.

If your old (analog) TV won't get a picture without an aerial, then neither will your new (digital) one. They both use the same frequency channels.

As far as over all durability is concerned, LED would be tops with LCD second.

This is a common problem with Westinghouse LCD TVs!

To help narrow down the problem, you need to know if the TV 'glows' when the picture is lost. Best way to tell is to turn off the TV in a darkened room. Then turn it on. If it is glowing, you will see it. If not, the screen will remain dark!

If it does glow, the problem is the TCON board. Also known as the LCD controller board. It's what controls the pixels of a LCD TV and is located on the back of the TV on the top. It usually is covered by a heat shield.

If it doesn't glow, the problem is the back light inverter boards. These control the back lights of the TV. And depending on the size of the TV, there should be two boards...one on each side of the TV in back. These usually have heat shields too!

None of these boards are difficult to replace. It just takes some patience and a little technical know-how to remove a few wire connectors and screws! If you run your TV's model number on sites like Ebay, you should be able to find these boards. Note that it's best to have the numbers from the boards themselves when doing searches! Sometimes there are similar boards that are meant for different TVs!

Example: Westinghouse 40" LCD(LTV-40w1)...
TCON board(serial #400W2C4LTV0-1):
