Why does my LCD tv take about 5 minutes for a picture to appear when I turn it on?

lcd picture
babs asked:

The sound works fine but the picture doesn’t appear, instead a red glow appears (as if from behind the screen) in different places, then disappears again.
After about 5 minutes the picture appears fine.
Why is this?

Mine used to, i took it back to the shop and they replaced it, it was something to do with the pixels reacting slow.

check you havent got anything magnetic near by

things like Radios, magnets can cause huge problems..

also old speakers can cause the same problem try and keep these type of things about 1.5 metres away

look at cabling and ensure there are no damages to it, you can buy new powercables that can improve picture quality, I currently use an enhanced powercable on my Pioneer Plasma and the picture quality and efficiency is massively improved

Ignore the comment about something not being connected properly

LCD projection? If so, replace the LAMP…

LCD Panel TV? If so, the Backlight inverter OR the Backlight balancer is faulty causing a problem…..

After 5 minutes, a component warms up enough to Start functioning correctly all the time…..
