Why am I not getting picture when connecting my laptop to my lcd television?

I recently bought a 7pin to 4pin/Yellow RCA S-Video Cable. I’m getting Audio with my red and white RCA’s but I’m not getting picture with the S-Video Cable? Why?

this sounds similar to our experience and this is what we did. hope it works for you.

click “start”
click “my computer”
on the left click “control panel’
click the icon that says “display”
at the top of that pop up window click “settings”
then click the “2″ screens instead of 1 screen.

there might be something wrong With that cable or ur laptop it could be either one or the television most likley the cable
