What is wrong with the picture on my LCD television?

John M asked:

I just spent $700 on a 42″ LCD Television. Hooked up the cable through my digital Box and turned it to the Music Choice Radio Channel. The still pictures they show looked horrible. Almost cartoonish. The words were blurred and it was just bad. The channels with movement looked decent but not what I expected. Why is it like this?

    John,

Let me guess…. you did not order high def TV service did you? LOL!! We have only seen this problem reported about a 1000 times here…

You are seeing a bad picture because you now have a TV that is probably larger and much more accurately reproduces the signal it gets. Basically, an old analog signal on an old analog TV set is hidden because the TV does not do a very good job of displaying the picture. When you turn that around and now you have a great TV and the same old lousy standard def signal, you are just seeing what was always there.

You might want to consult with your owners manual to see if the might be a setting that would allow you to adjust the images on your tv.If not, there must be a customer service number you can call to assist you in setting it up.
