put it this way:
lcd – good for everyday viewing and gaming
plasma – good for fast action movies and sports
i would advice you to buy an lcd tv. it lasts much longer and also very suitable in all conditions. whereas a plasma screen will be good for night time viewing. the problem with plasma is that it has a shorter life and is more fragile
I love my new LCD. The plasma is going out soon I heard and the new Laser T>V> is coming in at the first of the year. Will be expensive but think about a laser light show. Will be so great. But as for now, I say get the LCD. I have the Sharp Aquos Liquid Crystal and it is awsome. Blessings.
Plasma Pros:
Good plasmas have better contrast (range of blacks and whites)
Wider Viewer Angle
Better at displaying fast motion
LCD Pros:
LCDs are generally brighter
May have less glare
No chance for image burn in
Lower Electric Bill
If you are going to have a lot of natural light in the room with the HDTV, go for LCD (generally are brighter and have less glare).
The lifetime of plasma is generally not a big problem. Most of them are rated for 60,000 hours of use until the image is half as bright as when it was new. That’s more than 5 years of constant use.
