I currently own a Canon NTSC ZR85 Digital Camcorder, and it used to work just fine. I havent used it for probably 3 months, and when I turned it on to use, nothing shows up on either the viewfinder or the LCD screen. It’s just black. It will still record and take pictures as usual, but you cant see anything. What could be the problem?

Sounds like you have a problem internally with whatever powers the lcd and view finder. Its odd for both not work. Its something that will need to be professionally serviced by the sounds of it.
I bet it is probably your CCD sensor. There is a service advisory for this model and it sounds like you could get it repaired for free by Canon. The information on what the problem is and how to get it repaired by Canon is located at this link here:
You will have to send it directly to Canon, but the repair times should be fairly reasonable, since it is a service advisory. And hey, it’s going to be free. : )
