new lcd tv has a black screen – no picture at ALL?

lcd picture
Hannah S asked:

We just purchased a new tv – and everything is hooked up correctly – and there is absolutely no picture. Audio is great – but again, a completely black screen. What can I do?

    Hannah,

Check the inputs on your TV’s menu to make sure that they are matching the way you hooked up your cables. Sometimes you have to adjust or change the input settings to get to the picture. It also appears that you may be using composite cables (red, white, yellow). The yellow cable is the one for video input. You may need to change the cables to make sure that you are not using a bad one. Please update your Question on what type of cable system you have, type of cables used, and the type of tv.

    Good luck,

    David V

Can you bring up the TV’s MENU?

If so, you don’t have a TV problem, you have a wiring problem, and you need to consult the “connecting your TV” chapter in the instruction manual.

If you can’t bring up the menu, put the TV, the remote, the instructions and any cables that came with the TV set BACK INTO THE SHIPPING BOX….

Then take it back to the store for an exchange….
