Is there any way to place a Bose 321 subwoofer near an LCD TV without picture distortion or damage to the TV?

BOSE 321 GS system paired to a Sony 40″ LCD. I didn’t realize the subwoofer was not shielded and bought a stand (wood) that has a built in space for the subwoofer. Am I screwed? Is there any way to shield the subwoofer?
