That’s no problem. Because of what HDTV is, HDTV exposes the “poor” quality of old recordings. It won’t hurt the TV at all. The only part that “hurts” is the annoyance factor of watching old recordings on such a great TV system. Shucks! You should see how ugly my VCR displays on my new TV.

This is on topic but does not really help. I have a brand new sony xbr i was watching an episode of Full House and it was when Jesses cousin came to town. Anyway they both are played by Stamos. When they both show up on one screen it is laughable. They did the best they could but the second jesse is so bad its fuzzy and you can see the seems. Its something we have to live with but it will not hurt the tv.
