I can’t see the top and bottom of the picture on my LCD Television. Like the NFL games , I cant see the scores

The television is a Sony KDS 50A2000..When a hi-def picture or any picture for that matter is on, the top and bottom of the picture is cut off. I have tried checking all the settings in the picture menu and I cant seem to find it. Any help would be great. Could it be a setting in my cable box,which is cablevision.

    try changing your aspect ratio to 16:9 on your tv settings. or on your cablebox check the settings and see if you can change the screen size from zoom to stretched

    Check the remote: Use the aspect button to change the zoom/aspect ratio as needed.

    If you have cable or satellite the aspect may be controlled by the set-top box itself, so check the remote of your set-top.
