Looking at specs like these, in different models from one mfg. is of some benefit. However, trying to only compare specs between different mfgs., especially the very ignorable dynamic contrast ratio, is problematic, at best.
First, stick to a quality brand. Generally speaking, and not addressing any specific models, best in Plasma, by far, is Panasonic and Pioneer! In LCD, pretty much in order, it’s Sony, Panasonic up to 37″, Toshiba, Sharp, Samsung, and maybe LG. After these, quality falls off too fast.
Second, go to a large TV store and actually look at them, especially the brands I’ve given you.
Third, try to find online reviews of the 2 or 3 models you like best.
