‘Geeks’ How to get the perfect picture on LCD TV?

Bought a new 32″ LG LCD TV today, its beautiful, but i wondering if any geeks out there can tell me how to adjust your contrast/sharpness ect from 0%-100% to create the perfect picture.

    To create the perfect picture you need to stick a big photograph of me over the screen

    It’s up to the individual. Max contrast and sharpness works for me but then it might be too much “in yer face” for others.

    what you really need to do is color calibrate the lcd monitor. you can do this with a variety of products. the spyder software series is very popular. it uses a little hockey puck looking thing that hangs over the monitor. hook the tv up to a computer, run the software. the device reads color from the monitor and calibrates it to industry standards. this should be done every few months to maintain accurate color.

    Start with a Pixar disk like Cars or Wall-E and use the setup menus. They have a series of test-patterns and they tell you to adjust color, brightness, contrast to see things in the patterns.

    A better way is a real setup disk like “Digital Video Essentials”

    The third way is to hire a ISF Calibrationist to come in and calibrate the set for you.
