Changed my monitor to a LCD and now the picture is poor and blocky?

Just installed a new PC with new LCD display. The PC was broken so connected my old PC (which is on Windows ME edition) to the new LCD (no make). Now the picture is poor and blocky. Is this a setting problem or am I missing software.

    You need to set the display resolution to that of the LCD display in the display properties.

    The display will have a “native resolution”. If you set your PC display to this resolution or to multiple of it, then it will look OK.
