26″ SHARP LCD TV no picture.help?

I have a 26″ SHARP LCD TV that has perfect sound, but sometimes has no picture. When I turn it on, it just stays black. Sometimes I just leave it on or reset the whole cable and then it comes on fine. This has happened about 3 times already. I got my TV back in 2008, so it’s only 3 years old!
HELP!

I bought a brand new LCD tv and the picture was dark then I exchanged it for a Visio LED tv and still dark?
