When taking a picture with the Kodak Easyshare C633 sometimes the LCD is black, What kind cause this?

The viewfinder option is turn on, I have never change it. When I turn the camera on to take a picture..all I see is the options for taking the pic but the rest of the screen is black and when I take a picture nothing comes up but a black screen. Canon A75 – the LCD screen goes black when in the taking picture mode. In short, cannot take a picture. But the view/play mode works perfectly fine. Got this camera years back and hardly used it. Any easy fix? Thank you.
