I’ve just purchased a Sharp LCD TV (Model LC42XD1E) and not happy with the Standard Definition Picture.
Can anyone give me some advice about fine tuning a TV to get nice sharp realistic images ?
Thanks
I’ve look though the owners manual, but it doesn’t show me how to use it. It only shows me how to get there and operate it. When I get there, the PIP isn’t highlighted, so when I try to scroll down to it. It just skips to the next option. Do I need some sort of receiver to use this feature? Because I would love to use this feature. Do i have to enable something? Can anyone PLEASE help me?
I appreciate your answer.
this includes trying to push to push the power button manually. We have to unplug and replug it back in. It happens as much as twice in an hour.
I am about to purchase a flat screen tv and i am kinda confused as to which of these two types, that will give me high quality picture that is close to nature
TV + SD slot to load pics and easily roll over to picture slideshow when you stop watching TV.
Ideally motion activated, so if nobody comes in the room for half an hour it can turn off the backlight for a while.
Something not as comlicated as a HTPC, just TV + LCD picture frame?

UPDATE: Does the slideshow on Panasonic or others turn on automatically, or must you activate it through a set of complex menus?
I’m checking this for my uncle (doesn’t have a computer/internet). He has had the Sony Bravia KDL-46s2000 40 in. LCD TV. Came home from work and the TV picture/screen won’t “show/work. We’ve tried unplugging for minutes to a whole night, inputs are fine (there is nothing on screen even just trying to enter the built in menu etc.) I’ve noticed similar problems posted online and the TV is known for having a (mother?)board issue. Could it be a problem with the “light engine” or tubes? I thought only plasma’s had tubes.
TV was purchased in June 2006, is used every afternoon/night and weekends. In Torrance, Ca. (humidity?) Thanks.
I have a new 37″ Sony Bravia L.C.D. tv but the picture quality is not as good as my old 20″ conventional tv. Currently i have a basic sky box and a dvd player connected to the tv through a set of cheap scart leads. The dvd picture is perfect, can’t fault it but the sky channels are not as sharp and have a slight blurrynous sometimes. Could the buying of better quality scart leads make much difference? Oviously when you upgrade your tv you expect upgraded pictures.Any help or advice on this subject would be very much appreciated.
Hi guys,
My LCD tv keeps dropping the picture. Sound is fine. No picture sorce works eg cable, games consule. Have tried securing all the cables etc. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Alas – second hand from family
If plasma tvs have a better picture than LCD tvs then why are both tvs around the same price? Shouldnt the plasmas be way more expensive than LCDs since they show a clearer picture?
