just bought a 40″ lcd sony bravia 720p and when i watch an hd dvd, the picture quality is perfect…but when i watch my regular cable programming through a digital box, the picture quality is grainy and worse than the sony crt tv that i am replacing….though i appreciate the high quality of dvd viewing, the price seems quite high considering that 70+ channels are now subpar….is this tv too good for the quality of signal that is available or is there another issue?..thanks
Ok i just got a new 40″ lcd hdtv, i am not use hdmi just got the cable cord plugged in along with dvd player.
when i watch tv show the picture quality is fine, but sometimes it gets blurry when its not a still picture Exp: a person walking. it will get kinda blurry why is this?
also my cable is comcast and they went digital is this why
I rebuilt the low voltage power supply and have a good picture and voltages ok.. Problem is all of the sudden I looked and the picture is upside down. I am positive I didnt install screen upside down it would be impossible with cable lengths and positioning of the board.. The menu is upside down as well.
Demons? What?
John thanks for the joke, Im standing on my head that must have been the problem. No, i still have a demon in the tv. I have worked on electronics for over 40 years, putting a connector on backwards if you could in this case will either cause no problem at all or the thing will blow up. It wont turn the image upside down.
So i cant alter any of the settings, i have had it working when i first got the tv but must have altered another setting and now it does not work at all. I have Sky tv via scart and BT vision by HDMI and scart
I have this 720p lcd tv , i wanted to know if i use this hd cable would it make the picture look like 1080p on my tv and if not would it be better to use this or a normal r/g/b cable?
The Sony “Handycam” DCR-H28 camcorder is brand new and on the easy mode (mostly automatic settings) was recording perfectly with great picture when all of a sudden in the middle of filming the picture went from clear, perfect picture to an extremely blurry picture with only colors, not objects being visible. The only button I touched was zoom, which I had done earlier while recording without problem and ever since the sudden change from good picture to unusable picture, no matter what zoom the camera is on the picture is still terrible. I thought focus might be the issue but on autofocus the picture was still terrible. Even after I pressed the reset button, which the guide said would restore all original settings, the picture was still blurry and awful. What can I do to fix my problem?
the first answer doesn’t make it fit the whole screen i want it to fit the whole screen
I have a pretty sound knowledge of LCD TVs, etc, but I still don’t know what gamma control is. I have it on my LCD in the picture settings menu. It has a low, medium and high setting. The picture appears to be “lighter” when it is set to low. I have it on medium, which I think looks best, as it is just the right balance. I still don’t know what it’s purpose is, though.
Hi my Hitachi 32″ LCD LD8D20U has no picture but still has sound.
There is a faint flicker when you change channel. Does it sound costly to repair?
